All volunteers will have to go through core training and specialist training. Core training starts in September 2009: volunteers will go through core training in batches until the end of April 2010. Core training is comprised of general modules that will equip you with knowledge about Olympic history, Olympism, volunteerism, First Aid, fire & safety, etc. Some of the core training may be conducted on-line. Specialist training is job- and venue-specific: training details will vary depending on your job assignment. It will start in mid-February 2010 and end in late June. Specialist training will be conducted mostly at the respective sports or non-sports venues. Attendance for all training is compulsory. Volunteers who do not attend training will be risking their volunteering opportunities. Training will be conducted mostly on weekends. We are currently working out the details of the training. Training updates will be posted on the Singapore 2010 website.
