Short Film / Animation Submission

THE CHALLENGE
The challenge is to create a short film or animation, not exceeding two (2) minutes in length and inclusive of credits, based on the themes Youth and Sports. Filmmakers should aim to inspire youth around the world to embrace, embody and express, at least 1 of the Olympic values of Excellence, Friendship and Respect, through their films.

SELECTION CRITERIA
A panel of industry experts will review the submissions based on four criteria:

  1. Content Originality (Quality of storyline, and script)
  2. Content Relevance (Relevance of storyline and video content in accordance to Short Film theme or youth and sports)
  3. Creativity (Freshness of ideas, content composition, etc.)
  4. Entertainment Value

SUBMISSION:
Complete the Entry Form (Unzip for doc.) and and submit the short film on two (2) DVDs. The minimum resolution for the film is 16:9 (PAL). All submissions are to be physically submitted to the Organising Secretariat Office at The Float@Marina Bay.

Submission Rules

  • Short films that are submitted must be the participant's original work and shall not infringe on any copyrights or any other rights of any third parties;
  • Participants agree to transfer all rights of their work which may include and not be limited to preliminary and final drafts, text, drawings, plans, sketches, slides, photographs, negatives, videos, films, signs, music, computer programming, computer software and multi-media materials or other associated materials to SYOGOC.
  • The participant also warrants that they have obtained all required permissions regarding music, sound and/or images presented in your short film.
  • SYOGOC will not be held liable for any unforeseen delays in the announcement of the short listed finalists and winners of the Submission.
  • By submitting entries, the participant also warrants that SYOGOC will not be held liable for any copyright infringements perpetrated by you or your short film.
  • SYOGOC reserves the right to not screen any film for any reason it deems valid.
  • Short-listed participants will be required to sign a statutory declaration confirming that their short film is original and he/she holds all rights.
  • Entry materials submitted will not be returned to the participant.
  • By entering the Short Film and Animation Clip Submission Exercise, participants and/or their parents or legal guardian (if such participant is a minor) agree to accept and be bound by the decisions of the Submission and its judges which are final and binding in all matters.
  • SYOGOC reserves the right to extend the Submission deadline.
  • SYOGOC reserves the right to amend the terms and conditions.
