1 -- First Youth Olympic Games held

2 -- Number of silver medals Singapore won (Rainer Ng, 18, swimmer, 50m backstroke; and Isabelle Li, 15, table tennis girls’ singles)

6 -- Most number of gold medals won by an athlete (Tang Yi, 17, Chinese swimmer)

70 -- Most number of goals scored by one team in a handball match (South Korea’s 70-4 win against Cook Islands)

204 National Olympic Committees took part in the YOG

1,151 medals were given out

1,200 media representatives covered the action

2,880 table-tennis balls were used

3,600 athletes participated in the 26 sports

4,200 tennis balls were used

5,600 bags of laundry were handled each day by the Village laundry service

6,000 highest attendance at a football match (Singapore versus Haiti semi-final)

20,000 local and international volunteers signed up for duty

22,000 -- Average number of meals consumed by athletes at the Youth Olympic Village each day

370,000 spectators attended the Games

600,000 batteries of different sizes were used

1,800,000 litres of beverages were prepared throughout the Games
