| What is SIP? Sport Initiation Programme (SIP) is a supporting programme to promote Olympic sports to the public during the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games. The objectives are to create greater buzz for Singapore 2010, enhance understanding of the Olympic sports through physical involvement and cultivating an active, healthy and sporting lifestyle to achieve our vision of "Sporting Singapore". Riding on the platform of Singapore 2010, SIP was mooted to encourage sports participation among the public. From 14 to 26 August, the public will get a chance to experience a range of Summer Olympic sports pitched at different proficiency levels, catering to various age groups. Activities range from sports clinics, demonstrations and try-outs to friendly competitions. While our young athletes compete in the first ever YOG, all others will be able to participate in the SIP, trying out and playing some of the sports in actual venues set up specifically for the games. The theme "Let's Play" was selected to welcome everyone to participate in this fun-filled and carnival-like programme. It’s an opportunity not to be missed and we sincerely look forward to your participation! For registration enquiries, email to info-sip@singapore2010.sg or call +65 6570 5426/5427/5428.
